So, I’ve decided to give up filmmaking.
No, not really.
The full story? I’ve been having some health problems lately, so I’m taking a break from all that and will be once again working on my original passion of game development.
Believe it or not, there was a time when I sat in the back of math class in high school, teaching myself the TI-83 calculator programming language. I took a comp sci class and programmed a game with my friends called Super Battlecar Hyacinth Turbo. Having passed the AP test, I began my college career as a computer science major. Then I slowly became discouraged when I had to sit through course after course on UNIX and Java. Flash forward three years and I’m making short films with Peter in my garage.
Now I’m ready to go back and re-learn it all. My interests aren’t actually as random as they seem. Despite what Roger Ebert says, I do believe that video games can be art. And you can definitely tell a story in a game.
See that picture of my Vespa up there? That’s the last picture I’ll take of her. As of next week, I’ll have traded her in for a MacBook Pro. That’s step one of my 2011 Resolution.

I also had the childhood dream of making great games! After nearlly 3 years’ wandering, at last I made the decision and bought myself a MacBook last week with my credit card. However I’m glad making iOS games is not as difficult as I thought ;) Wish you a successful 2011 along the road of game dev!

“video games can be art”
Well-said, and a MacBook Pro will be well worth it. Best of luck!

Hey Sean, that’s what life is all about, following what makes ‘you’ happy, and motivated. You can always do film in the future. if you need sound trax for your game, i would love an opportunity to score some great songs. I have composed some great pieces already.. any genre, by the way. You boy Adonis from youtube… cheers..
