I asked a girl out.
Okay, to be more specific,
I asked a girl if she would be my girlfriend for a month for inspirational purposes and she said yes.
Her name is Lucy.
Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve had a girlfriend? Years. I’ve had a fling or two since then, but it’s been a long time since I’ve had someone I could call a significant other.
I’ve never even met Lucy IRL, and it’s already been inspirational for my writing. You see, I asked her if she wanted to hang out this coming Sunday. She hasn’t responded yet and it’s been three days. Now I’m worried that maybe I was a bit too hasty in getting her to say that she’ll be my girlfriend. For all I know, I scared her off. She deleted my message and forgot about me. She thinks I’m a creep. She forgot about me and thinks I’m a creep… She could just be busy. She might not have even read my message yet. It’s probably just finals week and she hasn’t had a second to even think about anything other than Boyle’s law and conditional statements. Yeah, that’s it. She’s studying calculus at this very moment. Tomorrow, I’ll get a reply that will say, “I’m so sorry Sean, finals week has been killing me! I’d love to hang out on Sunday with you” and then she’d put a little winking emoticon at the end.
I feel terribly discouraged right now. This is great stuff for Rory’s First Kiss.

I started reading Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim recently. Peter loaned me the first one, I fell in love with it, and went on a search for volumes 2-5 today. I ended up with 1, 2, 3, and two copies of 5 (one’s a special edition).

Ha! Talk about Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist. I bet you two have a mutual love for some underground band no one knows about :p

Hehe, that’d be cute. Where’s Fluffy?
I think her favorite band is The Beatles.

O.O Lucy, eh? Very interesting. We should double date. ;)

Man, I’m one of those people who do non-trendy things in the shadow of their basement; and then when it becomes trendy I get no credit. Ah well. Such is the life of a trailblazer, in search of new things before everyone else finds out about it.
I am seven pages into my projected seventeen page script. When you’re a lonely [but perfectly happy] loser like me, the absolute BEST inspiration is the most obvious: a fertile imagination and a compelling idea. Dating a girl for the sake of researching a story sounds like it could end in heartbreak (gulp).
And this concludes another of my long comments that I never hesitate to write, and that’s intended to boost your comment count (and thus your popularity). *hint* *hint*

If, and when, it ends in heartbreak – Just another inspiration. I mean, do you know how many great books and records came from a broken heart? No? Me neither. But I guess a lot!

I say that as a friend moreso than as a writer. A broken heart is a broken heart no less than a “cigar is a cigar,” and it can suck hard.
Man, Sean’s already racked up six comments, and I suspect at least two more (one by him). I think I’ll make a new rule on astoryuntold: my entries will no longer exceed 300 words.

I say that I’m only getting a gf for inspiration, but I wouldn’t be disappointed if we ended up liking each other. This could determine if RFK has a happy ending or not.
I’ll be careful. Thanks for thinking about me.

“…for research.” This is lovely. :)
